Autism: Recognize, Respond, De-escalate- Without Restriction 25-26

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

This workshop provides a practical overview of common characteristics of individuals with autism and how these traits may impact behavior, communication, and emotional regulation. Participants will learn how to recognize early signs of distress, understand the “why” behind behaviors, and respond using effective, non-restrictive de-escalation strategies. The session emphasizes proactive supports, environmental adjustments, and communication techniques that prioritize dignity, safety, and independence. Attendees will leave with ready-to-use tools and real-world strategies to support individuals with autism during moments of escalation—while maintaining a calm, respectful, and non-restrictive approach.
This workshop is primarily for Carlisle ISD.
