Brain-Based Behavior: Prevention and De-escalation in the Classroom 25-26

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

This workshop helps educators understand how brain functioning impacts student behavior, with a focus on executive functioning and the brain’s response to stress and stimuli. Participants will explore how students may enter fight, flight, or freeze states and how this affects their ability to learn and engage. The session includes a brief overview of Tier 1 supports and emphasizes practical, preventative strategies that create predictable, supportive environments for all learners. Educators will also learn effective, research-informed de-escalation techniques to respond to challenging behavior in the moment while maintaining safety and dignity. Participants will leave with actionable tools to better support regulation, engagement, and positive behavior across classroom settings.
This workshop is primarily for Elysian Fields ISD.
