Finding Your Science Groove: New Science Teachers' Cohort

New or Newish to teaching science? You do not have to figure it all out alone. The New Science Teachers Cohort is designed to support middle school science teachers in strengthening their skills in unit planning, lesson design, assessment development, and day-to-day classroom instruction. The cohort will begin with a six-hour, in-person session focused on building a strong foundation for planning and instruction. Monthly three-hour virtual sessions will then provide ongoing support, practical strategies, opportunities for collaboration, and time to work through upcoming instructional needs with other new science teachers. Participants will leave with usable planning tools, lesson and assessment ideas, and a stronger understanding of how to design instruction that is aligned, rigorous, and manageable. The goal is simple: provide ongoing support so new science teachers feel more confident, prepared, and connected throughout the school year.
