Dual Language Instruction is more than just “teaching in Spanish”. For programs to reach their potential, they must implement instructional practices specifically designed to support biliteracy development. Research has proven that bilingual brains work differently; therefore, learn differently. Programs must move away from traditional frameworks and practices developed for monolingual students and embrace frameworks and practices developed for biliteracy development and emergent bilingual students. This session provides participants with specific best practices to implement in dual language classrooms and schools.
