Finding your Why in UIL and STEM Extracurricular Activities

"This session will explore the different extracurricular activities available. Participating teachers will get a chance to participate, sample and know what events are available and how they can become role models and make an impactful difference. This opportunity will provide any teacher a chance to find their ""Why,"" an opportunity to build leadership experience and provide a learning opportunity for student growth, character building and good sportsmanship.
Healthy competition inspires students to do their best – not just good enough. When students compete they will become more inquisitive, ask more questions, research, and learn to work cooperatively with others. Students will strive to do more than is required and build their own intrinsic motivation. These abilities prepare children for future situations of all kinds and encourages them to excel in today’s competitive world where we compete for everything. These activities also provides an opportunity for students to learn how to win and how to handle a loss. "
