Managing the Cycle of Acting-Out Behavior in the Classroom

At the end of this session…
a. Understand behavior is a form of communication.
b. Identify behaviors of the 7 phases of the Acting Out Cycle/Escalation Cycle.
c. Identify physical environment and set-up be used as a preventive measure (PBIS).
d. Understanding the meaning of rational detachment- the ability to keep calm and stay in control of one's behavior during an uncomfortable situation despite feelings of anger or frustration. Learning to self-care matters.
