Grief Management (Education/Case Study)

Childhood bereavement and ‘grief in school’ is very common. Research shows that building up caring, responsive adult relationships around students facing adversity helps to mitigate risk factors that include higher rates of stress, anxiety, depression. In this session, participants will learn the Five Stages of Grief and specifically exploring the emotional and physical symptoms of grief. The session will identify the impact of trauma responses on bereavement and appropriate coping skills and intervention. Participants will identify the various components of grief in the case studies presented.
