The collaborative work session for 8th-grade Science aims to improve curriculum rigor and alignment with the STAAR test through four main objectives: updating the course pacing and scope/sequence to maximize STAAR readiness, integrating high-impact labs/projects that embed Science and Engineering Practices, evaluating the rigor of current lessons, and calibrating assessments.
