Workshop Registration Details

Faculty advising plays a crucial role in student success and completion at South Texas College. This training covers essential advising knowledge and skills, including degree and curriculum basics, campus resources, advising theories, Degree Works technology, and real-world advising scenarios. The training consists of nine sessions, each lasting approximately 1.5 hours, held on Thursday afternoons. By the end of this training, participants will be equipped to confidently advise, mentor, and refer students. The training is conducted live online via Microsoft Teams and recorded for later viewing. Participants who engage with the recorded sessions receive credit. Upon completion of all training components, participants are officially certified as 'Faculty Advisors.' Full-time staff members who regularly interact with students are strongly encouraged to participate.
