A Modest Proposal: Beyond the Red Pen—Feedback in the Age of AI

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

We all think we know what feedback is: a grade, a comment, a suggestion for next time. Often, it serves as a justification for a grade. But with so many students, how much meaningful and substantive feedback can you really provide, not just to help them perform better, but actually learn? What if feedback encompassed a broader definition—one that fosters deeper thinking, meaningful dialogue, and critical reasoning skills across disciplines? If you're looking to enhance student engagement, rethink the role of AI in learning, or streamline feedback in your own workflow, this session will provide both practical strategies and big questions to explore—because if you give a student a grade, they'll know how they did and maybe why. If you teach them how to elicit, engage with, and evaluate feedback, they will learn for a lifetime.
