South Texas College's recent designation as a Carnegie Opportunity College recognizes our commitment to expanding access, fostering student success, and advancing social and economic mobility throughout our region. During AY 2026-27, the AAWI Provost and leadership team will visit each campus to facilitate a guided discussion on how we can strengthen and promote our "Opportunity College" mission. Together, we will explore strategies for increasing community awareness of STC's programs and initiatives, connecting educational pathways to students' dreams and goals, building confidence in their ability to succeed, and effectively communicating the resources available to support them every step of the way. By working together, we can help ensure that every learner in our service area recognizes the opportunities available at South Texas College.
