Welder Qualification and Certification
Three day advanced welding workshop will be a combined experience of classroom and hands on lab exercises. Day 1 (classroom) - participants will receive a review of current TEA Accountability relating to student IBCs within the area of welding, review of weld test lesson plans for AWS and API, and review of welding process theory for AWS Inspector Certification. Day 2 (classroom/lab) - overview of a variety of AWS and API certifications, code, welded plate inspection and testing, update on tracking of welding certifications, testing and curriculum, and industry employability. Day 3 (lab) - welding of AWS, CWB and API certified welder test plates, welding of test plates for student certifications, demonstrations, and hands on welding inspection. Region 15 does not accept credit card payments at this time.
For district personnel within Region 15 there is no charge to attend professional development opportunities, except in some cases where there is a materials fee or when the district does not participate in a particular cooperative (example Mathematics and Science Cooperative).
If an evaluation is available for a workshop you attended, it must be completed before you will be able to register for future workshops. If you have trouble registering for a workshop, please complete the Workshop Support form or contact Region 15 at (325) 658-6571.
Out-of-Region teachers/administrators will be charged $100.00 per day, plus any materials fee associated with the workshop.
ESC reserves the right to cancel workshops due to low enrollment.
