BE CERTAIN YOUR STUDENTS UNDERSTAND DATA

Claim, Evidence, and Reasoning (CER) is a difficult concept for students because it requires that they follow a “formula” to explain their thinking. Using CER students must take a stance, back it up with data, and with their scientific understanding of the concepts and labs. We will look at how to create scientific and engineering experiences that help students develop, analyze, critique, and defend arguments that reinforce CER conclusions.
