Bring stories and lived experiences of real people into the classroom with a lesson plan and tools that meet the needs of your diverse learners. Join ASU faculty and staff for a workshop on using the Library of Congress Digital Collections to meet your curriculum standards and objectives; leave with a lesson plan ready to employ.

Objectives:
1. Explore the concept of All History is Local.
2. Discover digital materials available in the Library of Congress and West Texas Collection’s digital archives and teacher tools.
3. Navigate a new digital tool that showcases West Texas historical people and happenings with a focus on people of color, particularly Black and Hispanic or Latinx populations.
4. Recognize the role of primary sources in education.
5. Create a customized lesson plan that meets the needs of diverse learners.
