Preparing for Successful Data Capture For STAAR as the Growth Measures

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

This hands-on session supports districts in analyzing student growth data tied to STAAR assessments and aligning it with teacher observation data from the previous school year. Participants will engage in a guided review of their district’s STAAR-based growth measures and compare them to observation ratings to determine whether the two sources of data accurately and consistently reflect teacher effectiveness. Using TEA’s Data Validation Tool from the 2025–2026 TIA Guidebook, districts will assess their readiness for submission and identify areas that may require refinement to meet validity and reliability expectations.
Key Objectives:
• Analyze student growth data from STAAR-tested subjects alongside observation data (e.g., T-TESS)
• Identify trends, gaps, and potential misalignments in teacher performance ratings
• Use the TIA Data Validation Tool to evaluate the coherence of designations
• Develop next steps to strengthen data collection and system integrity
Who Should Attend:
Data analysts and TIA team members responsible for designation decisions and system fidelity.
