UNDERSTANDING THE IMPACT OF THE JUDICIARY-ARTICLE III

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

Join Law-Related Education as we dive into Article III and the Judicial Branch. This institute will focus on the creation of the Supreme Court and the evolution of the Judicial Branch through the examination of landmark court cases and documents. From the Marshall court and the establishment of judicial power to today’s Roberts court, teachers will use court cases such as Marbury v Madison and Hernandez v Texas to examine the evolution of this increasingly influential branch. Participants will enjoy both scholarly instruction and hands-on lessons and strategies that allow learners to engage with the content.
Target Audience: 8th grade and high school US History and Government teachers.
Both middle school and high school breakout sessions will explore Supreme Court cases relevant to their standards. Participants will explore simulation strategies to actively engage learners in the judicial process.
Registration is free and lunch will be provided each day. Participants receive access to all materials upon completion of the course.
