BREAKING BARRIERS: EMPOWERING STUDENTS IN CTE

The U.S. Department of Labor defines nontraditional occupations as those where women (or men) comprise 25% or less of the total workforce. This PM session will assist you in identifying nontraditional CTE programs and explain their importance in education and career development. Recognizing barriers that prevent students from pursuing nontraditional careers and understand their impact, as well as developing strategies to remove obstacles and create opportunties for students in nontraditional fields. Perkins V addresses nontraditional participation in CTE programming, TEA provides student data and indicator goals based on nontraditional participation.
