The Basics of Phonics: Laying the Ground Work for Effective Reading Instruction (Grades K-5)

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

This interactive workshop equips teachers with the essential knowledge to teach early reading skills confidently. Participants will explore how strong phonological awareness—the ability to hear and manipulate sounds—is the foundation for developing successful phonetic readers. It also highlights how explicit phonics instruction supports not only reading, but also spelling and writing, by helping students transfer sound–symbol knowledge into their written work. Knowledge from this workshop supports all HQIM curriculums.
