Building Independence: Creating Task Boxes for Functional Learning

ask boxes are a powerful instructional tool in functional academic classrooms that promote independence, structured work routines, and meaningful skill practice. In this Make & Take session, teachers will learn how to design effective task boxes that support functional academics, life skills, and fine motor development. Participants will create several ready-to-use task boxes and learn how to organize them within classroom work systems to support independent learning. Teachers will leave with practical materials, ideas for differentiating tasks across student levels, and strategies for incorporating task boxes into daily instruction.
