TMT Mentoring Summer Session 1 & 2

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

Summer I serves as the entry point into Texas Mentorship Training and focuses on establishing the foundational knowledge and skills mentors need to support beginning teachers effectively. Participants will explore the role of the Mentoring Educator, develop an understanding of the Texas Mentoring Educator Competencies, and examine how trust, communication, and relationship-building contribute to successful mentoring partnerships. Mentors will begin learning practical strategies for providing support, navigating common challenges faced by beginning teachers, and creating conditions that promote growth, confidence, and retention throughout the school year. Summer II builds on the foundations established in Summer I by equipping Mentoring Educators with practical tools and strategies to support beginning teachers through instructional coaching and high-quality instructional materials (HQIM). Participants will learn how to guide mentees through lesson internalization, lesson rehearsal, and effective coaching conversations that strengthen classroom instruction. Through interactive learning, reflection, and practice, mentors will deepen their ability to provide job-embedded support that promotes teacher growth and student success.
