Middle School Social Studies: TEKS-Based Gradual Release strategies and Instructional strategies.

In this afternoon session, 6th-8th grade Social Studies teachers will learn strategies to support teachers in shifting the cognitive load from teacher to the student through creating relevance, scaffolding, differentiating, explaining historical context, and building background knowledge with an emphasis on EB learners. Teachers will also be presented with instructional strategies for lesson delivery that align with expected learning outcomes assessed on STAAR.
