Elementary SS: Instructional Strategies (Schools 1-9)

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

K–5 Social Studies teachers will engage in a focused professional learning session designed to strengthen instructional systems and classroom practice. Participants will learn where essential district social studies resources, instructional documents, and curriculum materials are housed to support efficient planning and implementation. The training will also provide an overview of the IPC structure, including expectations for planning, instructional alignment, and collaborative processes. In addition, teachers will explore explicit teaching strategies that support student engagement, vocabulary development, discussion, and content retention in the elementary social studies classroom. A refresher on bridging strategies will reinforce ways to connect prior learning to new concepts in order to deepen student understanding and support instructional continuity across grade levels.
