Workshop Registration Details

This full-day professional learning session is designed to strengthen PK4 teachers’ implementation of Small Group Language & Literacy and Mathematics instruction through deep lesson internalization. Participants will examine upcoming lessons with a specific focus on Explicit Instruction and Check for Understanding (CFU).
Teachers will engage in a structured lesson internalization process to identify the lesson objective, determine what students must know and demonstrate, and plan intentional, step-by-step modeling and think-alouds. Participants will analyze how purposeful Checks for Understanding can be embedded throughout instruction to monitor student understanding and determine when to clarify, reteach, or move students into interactive and independent practice.
Teachers will have dedicated collaborative planning time to internalize an upcoming Small Group Language & Literacy or Mathematics lesson and rehearse the Explicit Instruction and Check for Understanding portions of the lesson. Through rehearsal, peer feedback, and reflection, teachers will strengthen instructional delivery and leave prepared to implement the lesson with students.
