By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
Understand the importance of clearly defined content and language objectives and how they guide student learning.
Write student-friendly, measurable objectives aligned to TEKS and ELPS that make learning visible and intentional. Identify the
relationship between the WHAT (content objective) and the HOW (language objective) in lesson planning.
Explore and practice low-lift, high-impact speaking and writing routines that increase student language output.
Embed structured talk and writing opportunities aligned to the objective so students process content with academic language.
Create classroom conditions that foster belonging, emotional safety, and language confidence, all necessary for productive language use.
