This session will introduce the elementary concrete starting points to focus student's learning. Using the elements of depth and complexity which include the Language of the Discipline, Details, Rules, Patterns, Trends, Big ideas, Ethics and Unanswered Question will be embedded as teachers use children's literature, newspaper and history text to stimulate higher level thinking. Using the Content Imperatives alongside these elements will create a deeper level of understanding for the gifted students.
