Paradigm Shift: Empowering High School Students through Project-Based Learning

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

What if your high school students had the power to design and, possibly, fund their own sustainability projects—turning classroom ideas into real-world impact? In this hands-on workshop, participants will explore how to activate the next generation of green leaders through project-based learning (PBL) and student-led mini-grants.

Led by EcoRise Teacher Ambassador, Victoria Galvan, this session will guide educators through a flexible and student-centered project design process that brings environmental literacy, creativity, and real-world engagement into the classroom. Teachers will walk away with a toolkit of strategies to cultivate authentic student voice, innovation, and leadership while aligning with core academic standards and STEM-sustainability themes. Educators will also be introduced to EcoRise’s open-source curriculum available at https://learn.ecorise.org, and the EcoRise Teacher Portal on Canvas at https://ecorise.org/teacher, which provides TEKS-aligned resources to seamlessly bring this work into the classroom.

PRESENTER WILL HAVE DOOR PRIZES FOR THE SESSION!!!!!
