Race to the Podium: Data-Driven Planning for Social Studies STAAR Success

In this high-energy, Olympics-themed session, Social Studies teachers will engage in a deep dive into benchmark comparison data to set the stage for gold-medal success on the STAAR. Using BM1–BM2 comparison tools, teachers will analyze performance trends, identify priority TEKS by level of concern, and strategically plan for upcoming academies and review lessons.
Participants will work collaboratively to examine student growth and skill gaps using benchmark comparison data, identify “gold standard” instructional moves to strengthen mastery in high-leverage TEKS, plan targeted, data-aligned academy sessions, and design review lessons that maximize student readiness leading up to STAAR.
By the end of the session, teachers will walk away with clear next steps, ready-to-use instructional plans, and the momentum needed to lead students across the finish line.
