“From Scribbles to Stories: Using Journals to Support Biliteracy"

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

This session explores how journal writing can serve as a powerful tool for developing biliteracy in early childhood dual language classrooms. Participants will learn how to support emergent bilinguals from drawing and oral storytelling to writing in both languages, using strategies such as modeled writing, sentence stems, and interactive writing. The session highlights how to honor children’s full linguistic repertoires while fostering meaningful writing development. Attendees will leave with practical routines and tools to implement journal writing immediately.
