Workshop Registration Details

Handle With Care is a specialized training program designed to teach safe, effective verbal and physical intervention techniques. It equips staff with practical, easy-to-learn methods that have been tested and proven to work with even the most challenging children and adults.

The program is appropriate for individuals with a wide range of needs, including cognitive, emotional, and physical conditions such as autism, congenital differences, brain injuries, and cardiac or respiratory concerns.

At its core, Handle With Care focuses on helping individuals achieve a calm mind faster. Research and experience show that tentative or uncertain touch can overstimulate and further agitate a person in distress. In contrast, HWC’s holding methods are intentionally designed to be definitive, secure, and comfortable, promoting a sense of safety and stability.

When staff are confident and properly trained in both verbal de-escalation and physical intervention techniques, organizations typically see:

Shorter duration of physical interventions
Fewer injuries for both staff and those in their care
