Texas law requires that educators providing services to gifted/talented students have the following qualifications as
stated in the Texas Administrative Code §89.2 (http://ritter.tea.state.tx.us/rules/tac/chapter089/ch089a.html):
This training is intended to introduce participants to the major topics regarding the specialized nature of gifted and talented students along with the unique educational needs of the gifted learner. The major definitions, concepts, trends, and theories will be explored as well as the history of gifted and talented education. This is Day 1 of the five day required training.
