Participants will also learn strategies for dealing with an individual in crisis using verbal and physical techniques. This is an initial training for participants who have not been previously certified or previously participated in the enhanced version, or whose certification is expired, and a refresher training for those who need to renew their certification. Participants must attend the six hours to receive full credit and obtain their certification for the 2025-2026 school year.

The Texas Education Agency (TEA) defines accommodations as changes to materials or procedures that enable students to participate meaningfully in learning and testing. Accommodation policies may apply to any student taking the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®) or the Texas English Language Proficiency Assessment System (TELPAS) depending on his or her needs and whether the student meets the eligibility criteria, as applicable. DTC and CTCs will be informed by TEA on the updates for the new school year at this TASI. CTCs will in turn meet and inform all pertinent campus staff on all updates.
