This initiative promotes collaboration between ELAR and Social Studies teachers by implementing iStation's "Texas History Awakens" and "The Story of America" programs. Using grant funds, RGCGISD will provide TEKS-aligned, interactive content and multimedia resources in both English and Spanish, supporting diverse learners and students with special needs through engaging, performance-based assessments.

Texas law requires that educators providing services to gifted and talented students have the following qualifications as stated in the Texas Administrative Code §89.2 (http://ritter.tea.state.tx.us/rules/tac/chapter089/ch089a.html) This training will help participants gain an understanding of how to implement Texas law and the State Board of Education rule concerning the assessment and identification of gifted and talented students. Participants will also learn about methods of assessment that help accurately identify the needs of the gifted students. This is Day 2 of the five day required training.
