This lesson, delivered in collaboration with SPED teacher, Mrs. Anna Barreiro’s 9-12 grade class, introduces students to the school library’s digital resources through MackinVIA. Students will learn how to access ebooks and audiobooks, search by title, author, and genre, and select texts that match their interests and reading levels. Guided support and modeling will be used to ensure all learners can successfully navigate and engage with digital texts. This lesson aligns with English I–IV TEKS 1(C), focusing on selecting and engaging with self selected texts for personal and academic purposes.

T-TESS is the official teacher appraisal system used in the state of Texas. It was developed by the Texas Education Agency, or TEA, to support teachers and improve instructional practices across the state. You could find the T-TESS Teacher Training Guidelines under the resources tab for additional information. The goal of T-TESS is to promote a culture of continuous growth and professional development. Through regular feedback, reflection, and targeted support, T-TESS empowers educators to strengthen their practice and positively impact student learning.
