Fentanyl Awareness/ Substance Prevention HB 3908

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

Fentanyl awareness is critically important because fentanyl is a powerful synthetic opioid that can be deadly even in very small amounts. Originally developed for severe pain management under medical supervision, illegal fentanyl is now commonly found in counterfeit pills and mixed with other drugs without a person’s knowledge. This has led to a significant rise in accidental overdoses among teenagers and young adults across the United States.

Educators, parents, and community members play a vital role in prevention through education and awareness. Many students may not fully understand the dangers associated with fentanyl or how easily it can be disguised in pills that appear harmless. Increasing awareness helps students make informed decisions, recognize warning signs, and understand the life-threatening risks connected to substance misuse.
