RBMS Leadership PLCs

These administrative and leadership PLC meetings will bring our administrators, counselors, media specialist, and facilitator together to discuss and strategically plan on instructional, curriculum, and assessment areas of support, including support to instructional technologies being deployed and used by our staff and students, and discuss and plan on areas of support toward student academic growth, progress, and areas of improvement using available teacher and student data during current and future virtual instruction and future face to face instruction models of synchronous instruction. On Sept 1st, ELPS Refresher Training planning. On Sept 8th, discussion of a counselor motivation presentation for teachers. On Sept 15th, discussion of TTESS Goal Setting and Professional Development Plan. On Wk of Sept 21st, TTESS Goal Setting Conferences with respective appraiser. On Sept 29th, TFAR, STAAR Interim Assessments, Census calls, Family Income Survey Forms, 1st 6wks lesson plans, Reading Literacy Test, 1st parent mtg-Title I, and CLEVER. On Oct 6th, STAAR Test Training by Mrs Annette Garza. On Oct 13th, selected webinar "Organizing your Resources using LiveBinders" from Region One to support all teaches with remote learning, discussed back to school protocols and procedures for Oct 19th 1st 6wks scores, electronic devices including hotspots, and Bark account. On Oct 20th, discussion of the following items: In lieu of this Thurs' Teachers' PLC, please take care of any or all of the following items:
1. Input grades in your gradebook.
2. Watch the Title IX video from last week's district email. (Later, you will get another email where you have to confirm you watched the video by signing electronically thru DocuSign).
3. Finish watching Live Binders webinar from last week.
4. Explore the livebinder.com website.
5. Start updating your 2nd 6wks lesson plans.
6. Do Teacher Device Survey from Mrs Cadena
7. Do Comprehensive Needs Assessment if you haven't (due Fri, Oct 23rd).
On Oct 27th, discusssed AR Program and how to increase participation through Reading class, DMAC-walkthrus and 2nd 6wks exams ans keys and documents, and planned on the upcoming RAAR schedule. On Nov 3rd--2nd 6wks exam testing. On Nov 10th, 2nd 6wks DMAC data and plan curbside turkey plate for staff for next week and the TASA conference coming next week and select which Region One pre-recorded webinar for teachers to watch in support of remote learning which will be "Online Teaching Tips and Tricks" Workshop # 145255. On Dec 1st, discuss EL designated supports and prepare for RAAR I for Dec 8-11. On Dec 3rd, review/finalize EL designated supports for RAAR I for Dec 8-11. On Dec 1st, we went over on how students log in to their respective DMAC accounts and on how teachers can check if students are actively responding on DMAC--also went over all the testing logistics for next weeks' RAAR I testing. On Jan 5th, we watched the Reg 1 prerecorded webinar,"Google Classroom and Streamable Learning Educational Videos" from the, "Copy of Webinars for Digital Teaching and Learning" to become familiar with instructional videos available to teachers as instructional resources. On Jan 12, 2021, reviewed updating grades, those failing 3rd 6wks, continue with 504 Tracker documentation, testing accommodations for 504, EL, and Sp Ed students, and discuss the current TEA Guidance on the Spring 2021 State Assessments. On Jan 20th, we discussed both TELPAS and STAAR logistics for paper administration and online testing versus our campus capacity and current, overall and EL, Sp Ed, and 504 student enrollment. Also, reviewed testing calendar/dates and online testing windows and possible dates for the upcoming TELPAS refresher training and calibrations, including the STAAR Test Administrator Training. On Jan 26th, we had our TELPAS Verifiers' Training by Mrs Annette Garza. On Feb 2nd, we discussed TELPAS and STAAR testing logistics, UIL Academics, and recent librarian's meeting agenda items. On Feb 9th, we drafted an SBDM agenda for an upcoming meeting to include back-to-school parent survey results, TELPAS online parent survey results, STAAR testing, and available PPE available for our staff which was also reviewed in our PLC. Counselors had a chance to discuss how their 8th grade presentation is going ahead of our high school counselors visit with our 8th graders. Our librarian discussed how her presentation to migrant and all ELAR students went in reference to their Reading challenges, the increased usage of Mackenvia and Clever as instructional resources, the use of the KAMI extention by students and the conitnued use of Flocabulary for instructional reviews, including rewards for our Accelerated Readers for next week. We discussed the content of our Drop Out Prevention meeting tomorrow with Mr. Guadalupe Cortez to confirm student withdrawal in special programs. We also discussed the TELPAS online testing process for next week, including the training of paraprofessionals. We also briefly discussed input from our administrative walkthrus and the current TELPAS writing sample process in our ELAR classes. On Feb 23rd, the Region 1 webinar # 1 for the 5th 6wks was assigned: "MackenVIA Tools to support accommodations" that support remote instruction. On March 2nd, we discussed a Semester grade report to summarize number of virtual classes being failed and identify students needing extra remediation, moving the 5th 6wks 3wk progress report from March 12th to March 24th due to the recent severe winter storm and 4th 6wks exam testing, Teacher of the Year, Mrs Erika Garza and future plans for recognition, the teacher TTESS appraisal process, last week's TELPAS online testing logistics, upcoming STAAR testing parent survey after Spring Break and testing logistics, and possible 8th Grade promotional exercises logistics. On March 9th, we discussed the Fall 2020 Sem grades report, possible summer school criteria, CIP changes from binder to digital, current TELPAS classification criteria and extended deadline, and the 2nd webinar for the 5th 6wks was assigned, "Student Paced: Advanced Google Forms" was assigned. On March 22nd, we went over the Fall 2020 Sem Ave report, specificaly students failing reading and math, discussed the possibility of summer curriculum writing, and important dates for May 2021 including our 8th grade promotionals and chromebook pick up schedule. On March 24th, Mrs Annette Garza and I met again but with the ELAR teachers to go over the ELAR teachers' Writing sample online folders since TELPAS verification begins this Fri, March 26th. On April 7th, we went over yesterday's 7th Grade Writing STAAR testing day logistics, reviewed 8th Grade Sci/SS RAAR procedures for the next two days respectively, went over the 8th Grade Promotional Walkthrough sketch and entrance map, including each member of the leadership team's roles and responsibilities, discussed plans for creating an RBMS, on-campus video tour for all our students tomorrow, and reviewed all the current computer software licenses and programs currently in use to support instruction at RBMS, including respective student special population groups. On April 14, 2021, we discussed changes to the 2021-2022 master schedule, including adding 1 STEM elective in every grade level through science class and combining the 7th grade writing and reading classes into one ELAR block with a 7th grade Acc Reading class for instructional support. On April 21st, we met to discuss the summer and curriculum writing program for this summer and to discuss of 5th grade elementary teachers and our 6th and 7th grade Reading and Math teachers input for our advanced and ACC classes for the 21-22 school year, including discussing the PGP parent signature alternatives for our 8th Grade parents. On April 27th, Mrs Perez, Librarian, shared info on the latest Librarian's Mtg, including contacting students not showing up to do home visits to recover Chromebook. We will not be pick up teacher laptops. Mrs Gonzalez shared our plans and sample Summer Master Schedule for the Summer 2021 Program. We discussed TTESS EOY Conferences and Final Observations, lesson planning for next school year, English and Spanish Parent meetings for next school year, and surveying required summer school students and mail out and online survey and getting students to come finish their Writing Samples to school one day by appointment. On May 11th, we went over our STAAR testing logistics and safety measures taken during STAAR testing today and tomorrow and discuss students needing to complete their TELPAS Writing samples after STAAR, May 12th and those last week. We went over our 8th Grade Promotional Program and Walkthrough Sketch, discussed teacher laptops, summer program, Chromebook collection logistics, classroom video camera trial test this coming Thursday, the use of Dr Owl, and the list of curriculum supplies for our Curriculum Writing Teachers. On May 18th, we discussed Chromebook Collection logistics and Pick Up Form and prices, finalized 8th gr promotional plans and summer school requirements, including related flyers to be sent out with students report cards.
