Ignite Language, Ignite Learning: Foundations of New ELPS for Teachers

This professional development session provides educators with an overview of the newly revised English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS) that will be implemented across Texas during the 2026–2027 school year. Participants will explore key updates to the standards, instructional implications, and strategies for supporting emergent bilingual students through aligned language development practices. The session will also highlight connections between the New ELPS, content instruction, and classroom implementation to help teachers prepare for a successful transition.
