Building a Math Foundation in Early Childhood

Early childhood teachers often feel pressured to spend the majority of their instructional day teaching ELAR standards. However, in today's world, ensuring that students leave with a strong math foundation is just as important. Join us as we look at the need for building a strong math foundation. Explore strategies that will help students internalize the math concepts that will ensure future success.
Teachers will learn strategies for internalizing foundational math concepts. Teachers will leave with a better understanding of the vertical alignment of math strands and skills.
You will need to bring a laptop or tablet and a copy of your grade level math standards. We will spend time discussing and planning math lessons and/or learning activities.
