Editing & Revision: Get Ready!

The knowledge and skills statements for our TEKS are based on best practice, which means that editing and revision should be taught using listening, speaking, reading, writing, and thinking. So how do we incorporate these language domains into editing and revision instruction? In addition, teaching revision and conventions within the context of writing is best practice, but how do we do it? If you've asked yourself this question, this is the workshop for you. Strategies for moving beyond "worksheet skill and drill" toward teaching real-world revision and stronger conventions while editing, is the goal. This practice is the best way to help students transfer these skills to their own writing.
