MTSS/RtI/PBIS...OH WHY! Universal Interventions (TIER 1) 21-22
Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.
Join us as we discover the best practices in research and the TEA guidelines for Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS). This campus problem-solving team strives to close the skill gaps of ALL struggling learners. Response to Intervention (RTI) and Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) provide the framework of academic and behavioral instruction based on student data and frequent monitoring of student progress. Electronic devices are needed.
Universal intervention, also referred to as Tier 1 or primary prevention, is a systematic approach for supporting
all students schoolwide. Universal intervention occurs in the general education classroom and is designed
for all students to participate. It includes evidence-based practices, research-based curricula, differentiation,
scaffolded instruction, and universal design for learning. Universal intervention alone meets the needs of about
80% of a school’s population for both academics and behavior.
