Students competed against each other (virtually this year due to COVID) to show off their knowledge of the titles and fight for the crown of "Rose City Book Battle Champion." This event provided students with unique opportunities to meet children their age on other campuses in our city, practice reading skills, and read books from new genres and formats that they may have never tried on their own.

Students start learning to research as early as kindergarten, making the classroom a perfect place to teach research skills that become a foundation for a lifetime of learning. Learn how to scaffold research for the youngest learners and equip older students with valuable information literacy skills necessary for a lifetime of learning. Research requires students to analyze and synthesize information which are both important higher-level critical thinking skills. Through inquiry and research, students must ask questions, provide evidence for their conclusions, and explain those ideas. Knowledge is abundant, but knowing how to collect the knowledge on a certain topic or for a particular reason is a skill that will always be necessary.
