G/T 6-Hour Update: Texas Performance Standards Projects - Grades K - 4

Description

The Texas Performance Standards Projects are independent research projects developed by the TEA specifically for gifted/talented students. The Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented Students states, "4.2: A continuum of learning experiences is provided that leads to the development of advanced-level products and/or performances such as those provided through the Texas Performance Standards Project (TPSP) (19TAC 89.2 3(2)). Moreover, 1.6 of the State Plan states, "Long-range evaluation of services is based on evidence obtained through gifted/talented appropriate performance measures such as those provided through the Texas Performance Standards Project (TPSP). The TPSP tasks are TEKS-based, include the College Readiness Standards, and focus on the four foundation curricular areas with interdisciplinary connections. Complete projects are available online for grades K-12. This workshop will equip teachers with the information and tools necessary to meet the requirements for their 6-hour update as stated in the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented Students.
