Workshop Registration Details

Baylor University and the School of Education will bring the PEAKS program to Region 7 ESC with over 45 hours of training. Preparing Educators with Autism Knowledge and Skills (PEAKS) program provides Texas behavior specialists, teachers, and paraprofessionals with specialized professional development in evidence-based practices for students with autism. Participants will have the opportunity to attend three phases of the professional development series on evidence-based practices for students with autism. The Behavior Analysis Certification Board (BACB®) Registered Behavior Technician (RBT®) curriculum will be provided across the series. Participants who complete the program will be eligible to earn the RBT credential.
Participants will be asked to respond to a few online surveys before and after completing each phase as part of ongoing research to better understand teachers' experiences using evidence-based practices in the classroom.

Phase 1: Region 7 ESC two-day Workshop (16 hours) to introduce evidence-based practices for autism.

Phase 2: Asynchronous Online Modules (17 hours) with Baylor University and the PEAKS Project are offering a $150.00 participant stipend upon completion of modules designed to increase knowledge and skills of evidence-based practices for autism. Must complete Phase 1 to participate.

Phase 3: Weekly 1.5 hour Virtual Learning Community Meetings (14 hours) with Baylor University and the PEAKS Project offering a $200.00 participant stipend upon completion to facilitate transfer to practice by solving implementation barriers. Must complete Phases 1 & 2 to participate.
