Leading Outdoor STEM Investigations
Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.
TEA requires 40 - 80% of science instruction to be lab and field investigations. In this session, we will focus on outdoor investigations concerning weather, space (sun/moon viewing), & wildlife observations utilizing various observation/data collection technology and field investigation equipment.
Participants will experience:
-working with monoculars, telescopes, and other technology (with the option to borrow through our STEM Lending Library!),
-working with field equipment such as portable power systems and power equipment,
-and will practice proper data collection and recording techniques using classic and digital systems.
We will spend all day outside so please dress appropriately for outdoor investigations (hat, sunshades, sunscreen, bug repellant, camping chair, etc.). This workshop will be held at the Mineola Nature Preserve. (If bad weather is forecasted, we will meet in the Sycamore room at Region 7 ESC.)
