Creating a Climate for Thinking and Writing, Whitehouse ISD 10:00 - 11:30

Before we can expect our students to tackle authentic writing tasks in the classroom, we must create a climate for thinking. This includes encouraging our students to think creatively, be persistent, listen with understanding, be metacognitive, and approach learning with curiosity. This online course will explore many of these habits of mind, how to foster their growth in students, and how to teach students to use them simply and effectively in the writing process.
