Developing Literacy Foundations in PK - K

We all know that a goal in Early Childhood is to develop a strong literacy foundation. The difficulty is in agreeing on what that means. As part of House Bill 3, this becomes clearer. Join us as we look at the components that we need to include in our literacy blocks. Equally important, explore how to integrate these components so that our students will better understand and remember the skills and strategies that we teach.
Teachers will identify the key components of a literacy program in line with HB 3 expectations. You will spend time collaborating and planning lessons to use in your classroom. (If you have a laptop or tablet, please bring it, or you may contact us if you need a device provided for the workshop.)
