Counseling 101: Guidelines and Tips for a New Counselor

Welcome to the wonderful profession of school counseling! If you are brand new if you have three or fewer years of experience join us for a day of learning, sharing, laughing, and planning. We will talk about your role and how your work fits into a Comprehensive School Counseling Program (CSCP). Topics will include the four components of a CSCP, the four student competencies, 80% of your time per SB 179, small groups, classroom guidance, strategies for effective planning, and crisis response. Participants will network and collaborate with other new school counselors. Lunch will be provided.
