Revolutionary Ideas in 4th and 5th Grade Social Studies: Presented by Law Related Education

Experience engaging, student-centered activities, providing opportunities for students to think critically about American history. Liberty, equality, civil rights, and responsible citizenship are just some of the key concepts explored during this interactive workshop. Discover innovative ways to teach such topics as:

• Eras of History
• Revolutionary Events
o American Revolution
o Civil War and Reconstruction
• Historical figures
• Civic Responsibility
• Government

Explore a variety of strategies to integrate literacy skills into social studies instruction. Strategies for analyzing informational text, summarizing information, pre-teaching vocabulary and identifying cause and effect relationships will be emphasized, enhancing students’ ability to comprehend and engage with historical content.

Fill your teacher toolkit with activities for immediate classroom implementation. All activities are aligned to the TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills).

Registration is free and participants will receive lunch and all materials.
