Unlocking Pathways to Student Success: Individualized Reclassification Criteria

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

Join us for an interactive workshop designed to empower educators in the process of identifying and supporting EBs (Emergent Bilinguals) with the most significant cognitive disabilities on their journey to linguistic proficiency. In this three-hour workshop, participants will delve into the intricacies of the individualized reclassification process, with a focus on tailoring criteria to meet the unique needs of each student.

Starting with a comprehensive overview of EB identification procedures, participants will gain insights into the TELPAS ALT (Texas English Language Proficiency Assessment System—Alternate) eligibility process. Through guided discussions and scenario-based problem-solving activities, attendees will learn effective strategies for setting individualized reclassification criteria and tracking student progress.

Additionally, this workshop will provide a platform for collaborative brainstorming, allowing districts to establish clear expectations for completing and sharing required documentation. Participants will leave equipped with practical tools, a deeper understanding of reclassification procedures, and the confidence to support EBs on their path to success. Join us as we unlock the potential of every Emergent Bilingual!
