This course provides comprehensive guidance on the procurement process for CACFP participants. It covers essential procurement standards, the development of procurement plans, and the requirements for cost comparisons, quotes, bids, and RFPs. Participants will learn to manage contracts effectively, ensuring compliance with USDA regulations and promoting ethical procurement practices.
Objectives:
*Explain the importance of procurement procedures and adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
*Distinguish between different procurement methods (micro-purchases, small purchases, sealed bids, and competitive proposals) and when to apply each based
on aggregate cost and other factors.
*Develop and manage solicitations and contracts, including creating clear and accurate specifications, evaluating proposals, and ensuring contract performance in accordance with established procurement standards.
