Whether you’re new to the classroom or looking to recharge your teaching toolbox, this dynamic session offers real-world strategies and inspiration tailored specifically for CTE educators in the Arts, A/V Technology and Communications cluster. With real classroom examples from Digital Communications, Interactive Media, and Animation, this session is designed to help you confidently teach and facilitate in a CTE environment that blends creativity, technology, and career-readiness.

Session Topics Include:
-Building Your Program – Flexible, practical ideas to start or expand your program of study - there’s no one “right” way!
-Teacher vs. Facilitator –Encouragement and support for needs of the CTE classroom
-Classroom Environment - Strategies for setting students up for success. Traditional classroom vs. CTE classroom. Think like a business.
-Promoting Your Program – Boost student engagement and visibility through admin support and community outreach.
-Cool Stuff & Resources – Must-have tools and ideas for your CTE toolkit.
-Course Structures & Lesson Planning Ideas - Practical frameworks and planning tips to organize your curriculum.

What to Bring: Please bring a device and any current planning materials you use. Time will be built into the session for hands-on planning and material development, so you’ll leave with fresh ideas and resources ready to implement in your classroom. This session is also designed as a collaborative space - come ready to share your best practices, success stories, and creative strategies. Let’s learn from each other!

Led by: Master Teacher - Beth Huse

With over 40 years of teaching experience, Beth Huse brings a wealth of knowledge, passion, and dedication to the classroom. Currently teaching grades 9-12 at Lindale High School (Lindale ISD), Beth teaches courses in Digital Media, Animation I & II, and Practicum in Animation. Certified in Technology Applications EC-12, Speech, English and Theatre, Beth has spent decades supporting students across disciplines while building a robust Digital Media and Animation program from the ground up. When not teaching, Beth enjoys gardening, working in the yard, and traveling.
