This workshop provides a comprehensive overview of special education funding requirements, with a focus on the federal Maintenance of Effort (MOE) provisions under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Participants will examine the statutory requirements governing special education fiscal accountability, including allowable costs, calculation methods, exceptions, and the consequences of noncompliance.
